The mission of the Parental Involvement Exchange (PIE) is to assist school district personnel, school board members, parents, parent advocates, school parent organizations, business and community partners in understanding and meeting the parental involvement provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). To make available to our clients and those actively engaged in working with parents, vital information and resources to assist them in closing the achievement gap and improving the teaching/learning process.

PIE also wants to improve professional development opportunities and the sharing of the best practices for individuals who are responsible for implementing parental involvement at the state, district or school level, thus enabling more effective engagement of parents and communities for participation with public and public charter schools.
